Commando (1985) is a high-octane action thriller starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as retired U.S. Army Special Forces Colonel John Matrix. After leaving behind a life of dangerous military operations, Matrix enjoys a peaceful existence in the mountains with his beloved daughter Jenny. Their quiet life is shattered when a ruthless group of mercenaries kidnaps Jenny and forces Matrix into a deadly mission: assassinate a foreign president to help restore a deposed dictator to power.
Refusing to be manipulated, Matrix escapes his captors and launches a relentless one-man war against the criminals responsible. Racing against time, he tracks down a trail of assassins, mercenaries, and former comrades turned enemies while uncovering a conspiracy that reaches far beyond a simple kidnapping. Along the way, he teams up with flight attendant Cindy, whose unexpected assistance proves invaluable as Matrix tears through an army of heavily armed opponents in his quest to rescue his daughter.
Directed by Mark L. Lester, Commando became one of the defining action films of the 1980s, combining explosive action sequences, memorable one-liners, intense hand-to-hand combat, and larger-than-life characters. The film showcases Schwarzenegger at the height of his action-star popularity and remains a cult classic beloved for its fast-paced story, over-the-top action, and iconic villain confrontations.
